Yesterday Washingtonians took to the streets to celebrate the election of Joe Biden. Often the celebration was focused more on the end of the Trump administration. 93.3% (268K) of DC voted for Biden and Harris.

People sprayed champagne, danced on the top of bus stops, climbed traffic lights, and held up signs and flags on BLM plaza between the White House and St John’s Church. This was the same area that 5 months earlier president Trump cleared of protestors in order to take a photo in front of St John's Church.

Throughout DC car horns rang out. For miles and miles beyond the national mall biden supporters continuously honked as a form of celebration.

Crowds were tightly packed, and although a majority of celebrators wore masks, social distancing was not followed. The crowds were absent of any of Trump's supporters, and people congregated exuberantly but peacefully. The only animosity expressed was to the president and the GOP. Between musical sets a performer asked the crowd to hold up their middle fingers and shout "F**k Trump".

President Trump was far removed from the celebration, he spent the day golfing at his resort in Virginia. This didn't dull the crowd that formed all around the high fences around the White House. Singing, shouting, laughing and crying were all widespread.
